Who Moved My Cheese?
In the book Who Moved My Cheese there are four imaginary characters who are journeying through a maze trying to find the cheese. “It would all be so easy if you had a map to the Maze.  If the same old routines worked.  If they’d just stop moving “The Cheese.”  But things keep changing.”[1]

Two of the characters in the story are mice: “Sniff” and “Scurry.”  Sniff, sniffs out change early and Scurry, scurries into action.  These two after hard work, trials and errors had found the mother lode of cheese in the maze.  But after years of enjoyment they realized that the cheese was running out.  They quickly made the change and began to look for new cheese, fresh cheese, different kinds of cheeses.

The other two characters in the story are friends called “Littlepeople”: “Hem” and “Haw.”  Hem, denies and resists change as he fears it will lead to something worse.  Haw, learns to adapt in time when he sees changing can lead to something better!

We all have something in common with these four characters.  My friend, the FSBO in the story above is a retired realtor and builder.  He was “Sniff,” sniffing old cheese and knew that he needed to make a change.  His information and knowledge of the real estate market was not up to date.  His wife, a retired educator, was a lot like “Scurry” who went into action immediately and listed the house after being educated about the changing real estate market.

Change can be hard and scary, but it can also be fun.  We are living in a world that is changing quickly right before our eyes.   However, when we see a bigger vision or a new opportunity we can actually get excited and learn to adapt to the change just like Haw.  When Haw learns to laugh at himself and realizes that change can lead to something better, he finally leaves the dwindling cheese source and overcomes his fear.  He ventured back into the maze in search of fresh cheese with a new perspective.  His successful quest not only landed him with new cheese, but a reunion with his two friends, Sniff and Scurry.

My friends could have hung on to the old buyer and made it work, causing themselves a lot of work and stress but they trusted me to take them to a new, better, different kind of cheese. They trusted in my PUC-UP processing of cheese, our new technologies and my old fashion face to face communication to get them to the “Cheese” they desired, and today they eat from the fruits of that venture.

Perhaps you are like “Hem,” and think you can do it on your own, hemmed into the past.  He resisted change and feared that it would lead to something worse.  He held on too tightly to what he had, what he loved and was familiar with.  He didn’t make the adjustments when he saw the writing on the wall and now is alone trying to make the few morsels of cheese last a life time.

If you are thinking about real estate I can help lead you through the maze.  I can show you new, different, and special kinds of cheese. I can keep you from bumping into walls and help get you the best result in the least amount of time.

Oh, and if you list your Property with me…I will bring you your own copy of “Who Moved My Cheese.”
